PSG pulls another remontada on Barcelona

Barcelona 16 years old wonder-kid Xavi Simons has announced departure from the club and very close to sign with PSG

Xavi Simons, 16, a young talent and an exciting prospect that every Barcelona fan was excited to see playing in the Camp Nou has announced that he is leaving the club with strong rumors linking him to PSG.

Looks like PSG have pulled another remontada on Barcelona and this time, they snatched the best talent in their famous academy, La Masia. Just like what happened two years ago when Barcelona tried to sign Marco Verrati, the Italian ended up staying at the club and instead, PSG moved to sign Neymar in a shock move and now with rumors strongly linking the Brazilian with an emotional return to Barcelona, PSG decided to move this time to Barcelona's exciting prospect, Xavi Simons.

This decision came as a shock to Barca fans yet it was expected since the Dutch kid's agent is actually no other than Mino Raiola and it was feared that the famous agent would put some difficult demands on the table should Barcelona directors want to renew with the Dutch, something that Barcelona directors would highly refuse as they see it against the club's principals to pay much wage to a kid who is only 16 years old.

Simons stated in his social media that leaving the club that he grew up at is the hardest choice and that he is leaving a part of his heart in the city.

“Today is not easy, as saying goodbye is one of the hardest things in life and today it’s my turn to say goodbye to what has been my home, my family, my life for as long as I can remember.

“It was a dream come true when I put on my first Barca jersey nine years ago as a pre-benjamin (under-8) player.

“Through the years I have experienced victories and defeats, I have fallen and gotten back up time and time again.

“Through it all, my team-mates, my coaches and the entire staff at La Masia have been there by my side, every single day.

“Even if I am only 16 years old, I have also felt the love and support of hundreds of thousands of Barca fans that wanted me to keep growing and someday make it to the Camp Nou.

“To all of you, I can only say: thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I will never forget our time together and will forever cherish the memories.

“As I am about to start a new and exciting adventure away from Barcelona, this club, its people and its fans will always hold a special place in my heart.

With Simons close to join PSG, could we see an end in Neymar's saga with the Brazilian deciding to stay with the Parisians too like what happened with Verrati's case? especially after the Catalan's vice president stated yesterday,

“We know that Neymar is not happy in PSG but like the president said before, there is no Neymar case with us”

However, it's reported in Spain that the Catalan decided to make some drastic changes in regards their academy and they have started already by appointing their ex goal-keeper Victor Valdes as Under-19s manager and it's expected that the club would also appoint their ex forward Patrick Kluivert as director of La Masia.
