Lionel Messi urges Argentina to move forward and to not give up hope for Copa America after Colombia loss
Argentina have lost yesterday 2-0 in their first Copa America match against Colombia in Salvador, a match which was very tense and full with faults and yellow cards.
It was Argentina's first loss in Copa America match since the 2007 final against Brazil and also the team's first opening defeat in the tournament since 1979. A match which Messi couldn't have the upper handle or bring one of his miracles but despite the defeat, Lio isn't disappointed, in fact he think they have played well and created chances.
''they kept the ball well but didn’t create clear opportunities, but when we took a step forwards in the second half they scored a goal. When we were playing at our best, they scored a great goal and it cost us,'' ''We didn't want to start this way, obviously, but now we have to lift our heads and keep going, I think this team is ready for the challenge, we have to focus on the coming matches.''
Argentina still have two other matches against Paraguay and the guests Qatar so they haven't lost their chance yet to qualify but they have to think about their mistakes and try to avoid them.
