Coutinho's agent makes transfer claims

Coutinho's agent broke silence over transfer talks and rumors concerning his client

Philippe Coutinho's been a hot topic over the last few weeks and rumors have been linking him to different clubs.

Most of those rumors linked the Brazilian with a move to PSG on a swap deal to bring his national team-mate Neymar back to the Camp Nou while other rumors had it that the Copa America winner wants back to Anfield and that his ex-team is interested in bringing him back.

It's yet obvious that the Brazilian's last season with the Catalan was not too impressive and high expectations were not met, the factor that made everyone assume that the Brazilian's minutes at Barcelona are counting backwards.

However, it was about time Coutinho's agent Joorabchian breaks silence over these rumors and make the truth crystal clear, which's what he told Telegraph Sport.

“I was told they have no intention of selling him, that Barcelona have not spoken to anyone and that stories to the contrary are simply not true,”

“I will not let people talk about Philippe and put him down because for one-and-a-half years we have said nothing. I won’t let them do that and all of us in Philippe’s camp will not let that happen because Barcelona have told us he is staying.”

Reports in Spain coming from Mundo Deportivo this Saturday claiming that Barcelona indeed did not receive any offers for Coutinho as they are not interested in selling him.

Yet Griezmann's signing has brought up some question marks, who will be wearing number 7 next season? and we all know that it's the number that Griezmann favors, wearing it both in his ex-club Atletico Madrid and with the national team too.

Which made some sources claim that the coming of Griezmann is the leaving of Coutinho, especially since Barcelona are reportedly interested in bringing Neymar back and they would need some finance to do so.

“Coutinho’s camp are not actively looking to move him but we believe people inside Barcelona may be acting without authority to try and sell the player,” Joorabchian claimed. “Either Barcelona have to contain the people within their organisation who are giving out information to the contrary or they have to tell us the truth if they have changed their minds.”

Barcelona representative Andre Cury has been trying to include Coutinho in Neymar's deal to reduce the cost and with Joorabchian's latest statements, we could see things getting more complicated for the super-star's return.
